Track Name: Deep in the Fall
Deep in the fall
nights last too long.
Red was the dawn
the day Ididn't chop down that pine tree.

River runs cold,
path for my walk,
axe in my hand...
A squirrel jumps light on the branches.

I start my work,
I hit the root,
and leaves start to fall.
I make a stop and step back,
drop my axe to the ground
Track Name: I Used to Drive a Truck
May '54,
I used to live by the country
working so hard
driving a truck in harvest time.

Boots, ripped overalls,
cup, dirty hands.
Road in front of my eyes
blurry skyline
in this wasteland

Sun burns my skin
leaning my arm out the window.
Wind blows my hand,
slips through my fingers so warm.

Drive, 5 bucks a week.
Time's not enough.
Life it ain't too long.
Track Name: Fifty Dollars in My Hand
Later, in that same damned day
I stepped into the market place.
Blinded by the sun I stepped
with fifty dollars in my hand.
I went straight to Mitchell's front door,
and I said "hey Mitch I want a gun
I want it right now".

(with fifty dollars in his hand)

- But what d'you want a gun for, son?
- I wanna shot my boss.
- But what d'you want a damned gun for, son?
- I said I'm gonna kill my boss

(he wants a gun)

- Hey son just wait a minute,
there must be another way.
Please son, just think for a minute.
- There is no other way
Track Name: By the Grace of God
Soon, maybe tonight
you will get everything you deserve, mister.
Soon, soon Mr. Doyle
I will knock at your door, yes, tonight. Yes, tonight.

You'll get yours.
I hold a Holy gun
by the grace of God.

Soon you will be
buried alone with your Navy Jack, mister.
Soon you will remember my name
when I'm pointing you, dixie man.

You'll get yours.
I hold this Holy gun
by the grace of God.

Dusk.
There's a light in the house.
I will slip in through that fence.

Hush
pretty dog, go away,
this won't last for too long.

So I knock with the gun in my hand.
I can hear now your steps.

I better get out of here
I better hurry
Track Name: And Then the rain Started
I got out in a hurry
but two miles from there
three policemen stoped my car.
They got just reported
over the radio.

I said to the captain
- That man was not good
- Son, you better shut your mouth
Where is the weapon?
I think you better tell...

(and then the rain started falling down)

When I got to prison
I phoned my mom
I said "mother, I'm in jail.
I killed a bad guy
with a holy gun"

(and then the rain started falling down)

Ten years in a small cell
with six meals a week
and four ice cold showers every month.
Everyday I wondered
if I wasn't right.

(and then the rain started falling down)

Now I can see the sun
with no bars anymore
I think I'm going home.
I'll leave this wasteland.
Track Name: Back in the Years
It was fourteen years ago
I took this same road
to find my own way home.
Now I'm coming back
to the place where I once belonged,
nowhere left to run.

I can smell the lemon trees
back in the years.

I can see my old man's boots
covered in mud.
I wish I could come back home,
go back in time.

Now I'm holding in my hands
a tiny photograph
that's almost all I've got,
father'n'mother's memories
I keep in black and white.
I wonder where they are now.

I can feel the morning dew
I can hear the rooster singing
I can feel the prairie wind
back in the years.

I can smell my mother's stew
on Saturday night.
I wish I could come back home,
go back in time.
Track Name: Indian Song (Everything's Burned)
And I think of that ancient Indian song;
comes to me in my father shaking voice.

So I walked to my house,
but all I found instead was a ruined barn.
Nothing, nothing was left,
everything'd been burned in a fire.

So I fell, I got down on my knees
and I thought of the games I used to play,
memories that remain deep in my mind.
Now I know I can't go back home.

Nothing, everything's gone.
Nothing, everything's lost.
Nothing, everything's burned.
Nothing, not a thing.
Track Name: Follow the White Stones
I was standing alone,
I couldn't even cry a tear for me.
I walked to the pine woods where I...
I used to play

Walking in the dark
I found the marks
I drew for my secret place
I followed the white stones to where
I hid my secret box,
under the turtle stone,
where the river runs red.
Track Name: Box of Brass
I knew the path, exactly,
how to get there.
I remembered every step.
I remembered every tree
and every turn
even in the dark.

So wrapped up in some paper sheets and tied
I found that rusty little box of brass for me.

I opened it and found my memories
inside that time machine,
some marbles and some pictures
from a baseball magazine...

So I closed the box and wrapped it in paper sheets
and I put it in the secret spot again, the same, and I left.
Track Name: We've Had Enough
People're standing on their knees under the water
begging'n'looking at the floor
just behind a handmade paper sign, embarrassed
about needing help.

TV's full of politicians.
They say they're gonna find the way out,
but everybody's tired of liars
and empty words.

We´ve had enough
Time's gonna come

You betrayed us,
you sold us out,
you took away what we are,
nobody wants you,
nobody needs you,
We will fight to kick you out

We´ve had enough
Time’s gonna come

It's just a matter of time and it'll come,
you know we're gonna find the way,
we'll grab our weapons and we'll fight you,
you’ll be sorry for what we lost.
